Happy Friday and Happy Halloween Eve!!!
I sat down with my sewing machine today and whipped out a SUPER simple, super wearable project. Ready? All you need is an extra, extra large t-shirt (I found a black one at the Thrift shop yesterday for $2), a sewing machine, and scissors.
Here is the really unflattering BEFORE. Stick with me, it gets a lot better. This is not an exact process, so while wearing the shirt, pull it in on either side till it fits as snugly as you would like. Stick a pin in it to mark your place. This is the time to also mark how high you want your arm holes to be. I like mine high...it's the most flattering.
Stitch a straight seam down either side all the way up to your new arm holes. Easy, right? Next you need to decide how tight your sleeves will be. Go slim. Once again do a straight stitch, this time from the end of your sleeve to your new arm opening. Trim off the excess (be sure to save the scraps!).
Time to cut your favorite collar. As a rule, I don't wear crew necks, they just don't seem to do anything for me. Just grab your scissors and slice off the top band. Do you want a boatneck? Round? V-neck?
Ta da! I used the scraps to create three rosettes that I attached to the neckline with embroidery floss. Wear it with some skinnies or a pair of leggings and you're set.
I am going to post a little Halloween challenge later tonight.
