I don't remember the last time I was really sick. I just don't get sick. I think I'm finally at about 60%. I still can't eat much and am incredibly tired, but I'm on the mend. It's all of 9:15 and I've retired to my room to do a little post this evening. Thank goodness for my cozy bed and AMC. Can you really see Christmas Vacation too many times?
I didn't have it in me to do a full-on makeover this week with the brunch, illness, and general Christmas stress. So here's a mini-makeover of thrifted items.
Remember my pretty vintage sheets? I still have my mountain of perfect 6X6 squares just waiting to be stitched into a quilt, but I also had some beautiful full sized sheets left. Sophia's bed was in desperate need of a big-girl makeover so I made a duvet cover for her from two of these lovely patterns.
This is the simplest project ever...so simple I feel a little guilty posting it. But I LOVE how it turned out and it is just the look I was going for. Have you checked the price of duvet covers or comforters? Youch!!! This baby cost me $3. And look at those colors! I'll have a real Thrifted Makeover next Monday:)
I pulled together the strength to venture out to Target today for some last minute shopping. I picked up some CUTE jammies for the kids and thought I should try snapping some pics for some Christmas cards (I know I'm a little late in the game). I think Sophia is feeling a bit old for the footie jammy photo shoot...here's how it all went.
It would make for a great flip book. At least they both ended up with smiles on their faces.
I'll be back tomorrow...honest I will.
